Embroidery is a process that uses embroidery needles to lead colored threads, and embroiders the designed patterns on the textiles with stitches to form patterns. Recently, the reporter from chinanews.com walked into the embroidery studio of Zhao Guiqin, the inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage project embroidery autonomous region, and all kinds of embroidery works were lifelike and amazing.

Zhao Guiqin has been involved in embroidery for 48 years. In her impression, when she was young, all the "beautiful things" in her hometown could not be separated from embroidery. "The sheets, pillows and insoles we used to use were all hand embroidered. Embroidery is an expression of the pursuit of beauty, so I gradually fell in love with embroidery."

However, Zhao Guiqin's journey of studying embroidery was not smooth. When she was young, under the pressure of livelihood, she often held several jobs, opened a small supermarket, and worked in a restaurant. The tight life did not let her give up her love for embroidery. "I didn't throw away embroidery, I feel I can't do without it," said Zhao Guiqin.

With his own efforts, Zhao Guiqin became the inheritor of the embroidery autonomous region level of the national intangible cultural heritage project. She integrates the breath of life into her works, and completes everything she sees in her life vividly with needle and thread.

While inheriting the unique stitch of northwest embroidery, Zhao Guiqin also added new elements. In order to make the embroidery work more brilliant, she combined embroidery and duo embroidery to make the embroidery work more three-dimensional and beautiful.

Now, Zhao Guiqin's daughter Wang Qian has also embarked on the path of embroidery, becoming a inheritor of intangible cultural heritage. The mother and daughter jointly run the embroidery studio, carrying forward this intangible cultural heritage technology.

"Embroidery is not just a work of art, but I think it should be returned to its original nature and used more in our life." Wang Qian tried to apply embroidery to the decoration of daily necessities such as clothes, bags, earrings, etc. She hopes that by this way, more people can understand embroidery and pay attention to it.
