Vietnam Garment Enterprises Dare Not Accept More Orders Due To Labor Shortage
Vietnam's Saigon Economic Times reported on June 6 that garment orders were pouring in, but some manufacturers were afraid to accept new orders due to insufficient production capacity. At present, the biggest difficulty faced by Vietnamese garment enterprises is the shortage of labor and raw materials.
Many enterprises' export orders have increased, and the orders are gradually filling up. Analysts predict that Vietnam's textile and clothing export volume this year is likely to exceed the set target of 42-43 billion US dollars.
In the first four months of this year, Vietnam's textile and clothing exports reached nearly $11 billion, up nearly 21% year-on-year, according to Wu Dejiang, President of Vietnam's textile and clothing association.
Among them, Vietnam's main textile and clothing markets such as the United States, Europe, Japan and so on have made considerable achievements.
Export orders are quite stable. Ruan Shi Xuemei, Deputy Secretary General of Vietnam textile and clothing association, said that export orders of member enterprises were stable and showed a good growth trend. At present, many enterprises' export orders have been arranged to the end of the third quarter, but at present, enterprises are facing difficulties in recruiting more workers to complete the new orders.
