The 13Th Asian Chemical Fiber Conference (Phase II) Held Online

On the first day of the conference, the industry representatives of the members of the Asian chemical fiber Union made a report on the industrial development status, relevant economic and policy trends of their respective countries and regions, focusing on the impact of the new epidemic on the chemical fiber industry in their respective countries and regions, and sharing the current sustainable development measures and future sustainable development direction of their chemical fiber industry.

At the special report meeting on the second day of the conference, the participants focused on the supply and demand prospects and challenges of the chemical fiber industry, PET recycling, chemical fiber product recycling supply chain, non petrochemical and biological materials, development of high-performance chemical fiber and marine plastic pollution, environmental problems in the supply chain, product safety, standardization and other topics.

During the two-day meeting, "sustainable development" became the most frequently used word. In order to achieve the goal of sustainable development, all member countries and regions of the Asian chemical fiber Union have made active exploration and efforts from various aspects. Such as recycling PET bottles, waste textiles and other waste into treasure; Through the application of bio based fiber, the dependence on petrochemical resources is reduced; Reduce carbon dioxide emissions by promoting energy-saving and environmental protection technologies and equipment; Through cooperation with washing machines, detergents, textile and clothing related industrial chain, ensure that the degradable fibers in related end products can be completely decomposed in the ocean and soil; Through the cooperation with ISO standards and the platform of Standardization Working Committee of Asian chemical fiber Union, standardization activities related to sustainable development can be better promoted... So as to continuously "reduce the burden" for the ecological environment while building a resource recycling mode, and contribute their own strength under the consensus of sustainable development.

At the meeting, the heads of the national and regional chemical fiber groups commented on the meeting. Everyone agreed that although the progress of chemical fiber industry in different countries and regions is different, it also faces many common challenges and threats. Looking forward to the future, due to population growth and improvement of living standards, the global demand for chemical fiber will continue to grow, especially in emerging countries and regions, and chemical fiber is expected to continue to lead the growth of fiber demand. Based on this, all member countries and regions of the Asian chemical fiber Union should shoulder their respective responsibilities, strengthen cooperation, learn together, share information, and learn from each other. At the same time, they should strengthen exchanges with the European Union and other major chemical fiber producing countries and regions in the world, realize coexistence and common prosperity, and continuously contribute to the sustainable development of Asian chemical fiber industry and even the global chemical fiber industry.

It is reported that the 14th Asian chemical fiber conference will be hosted by Korean Chemical Fiber Association (kcfa) and is scheduled to be held in May 2024. It is hoped that by then the haze of the epidemic situation will be completely cleared, and the hope of face-to-face communication in the chemical fiber industry will finally come true.
