Ascend Launches Acteev Protecttm Antibacterial Fiber Technology

Recently, Olssond (Ascend) launched the Acteev ProtectTM antibacterial fiber technology. This breakthrough technology can effectively inhibit the growth of fungi, fungi and other microorganisms, and achieve the long-term antibacterial and cleaning of textiles. It is reported that the innovative technology is currently applying for patents, covering textile and non-woven fabrics, and can be applied to masks, filters and clothing.

Acteev ProtectTM combines active zinc ion technology with polyamide based textiles. The active zinc ions are embedded in the polymer matrix, which can achieve lasting protection compared with the surface coating. Vikram Gopal, senior vice president of global technology, said: "zinc is very easy to enter the cells of bacteria, and is more active than other basic elements such as manganese and magnesium. Therefore, it will block bacteria from ingestion of other elements, so that microorganisms can not grow or reproduce. At present, most products that use silver as an antibacterial agent may have adverse effects on the environment, and zinc has obtained the GRAS safety certification of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Professional clothing or sportswear made of Acteev ProtectTM fabric is durable and comfortable, and it can withstand repeated washing to keep its performance unchanged.

Acteev ProtectTM antibacterial fiber technology is the first product of the company's finished fabrics. The company plans to expand the product line in the next few months, including PA66 fabrics for medical applications and engineering plastics for high-frequency contact surfaces.
