On November 7~9, the sixth "ten as dialogue" came back. A number of international business leaders, famous scholars and policy-makers gathered in the Guilin of the famous city of mountains and waters, focusing on how to accelerate the realization of the goal of sustainable development of the United Nations.


At the meeting, representatives of Yida group, including Chairman Yang Minde, vice chairman and chief executive officer Che Ketao and vice chairman Yang Min Yin, and experts and scholars from different fields discussed the topic of sustainable development in the form of speeches and seminars. In 2015, the United Nations General Assembly adopted 17 sustainable development goals to address imminent social, environmental and economic problems, and revised the timetable for achieving the goals in 2030. July 2019 is the hottest month in the northern hemisphere. Australia in the southern hemisphere has just passed the hottest October. Climate change is becoming more and more obvious, and its impact on society and environment is becoming more and more serious.


In order to implement the goals set by the United Nations for sustainable development in 2030, the state has decided to build a "national sustainable development agenda innovation demonstration zone" in six cities. Guilin is one of the cities, which is entrusted to this important mission by the state.


At the same time, we believe that enterprises are an indispensable jigsaw puzzle in the whole solution. Ten this year, as the theme of the dialogue is: the goal of sustainable development, the turning point of the times, to accelerate the realization of the harmonious and common prosperity of mankind and nature. We will focus on how to promote target eight - decent work and economic growth, and target twelve - responsible for consumption and production.


Enterprises should not only pursue profits, they should shoulder more environmental responsibilities. Why do we aim at the 17 objectives in the first eight and twelve? Because we believe that these two objectives are the most able part of entrepreneurs to participate in, and the best way to provide practical solutions, so as to maximize their influence.


The global economy is ushering in a turning point, and China is the focus of this change. Yida has invested in China for more than forty years, witnessing the economic take-off of the country. It also witnessed the determination of the state to integrate governance and protection of the environment into policies and accelerate the pace of sustainable development.


I believe that as long as we do our best and work together, we will create a harmonious future for mankind and the environment.


Zhong Hong, vice mayor of Guilin, said in his speech that Guilin is a world-famous scenic tourist city and the first batch of cities in China to build an innovative demonstration zone for national sustainable development agenda. On September 2015, general secretary Xi Jinping attended the UN Development Summit and passed the UN sustainable development agenda 2030 with all the leaders, calling on all countries to take actions to achieve the 17 goals of sustainable development. The theme of this ten dialogue is "in-depth exploration of sustainable development goals", which is of great significance for comprehensively implementing the national sustainable development strategy, rapidly promoting the construction of innovative demonstration zones and implementing the 2030 sustainable development agenda.


Guilin Scenery is one of the best, but how to jump out of the Lijiang River for development, to nurture and protect the Lijiang River by industrial development, to take a road of industrial transformation and upgrading and scientific development of the harmonious development of the natural environment is an important subject before us. We should use the leading enterprises and the industrial chain to develop the Guilin industry.


Since the beginning of this year, Guilin has fully implemented the strategy of industrial revitalization, including a number of major projects, including deep technology, Chinese medicine and Lingui Yida new special textile mill, which have been put into operation one after another. On the 16 day of last month, the Autonomous Region Office released the list of the second batch of warehouses for Guangxi's industrial leading enterprises to cultivate, and Gui Linyi and other 6 Guilin enterprises were selected. Rafida, former Minister of international trade and industry in Malaysia, described how to achieve sustainable development from different angles. She said in Guilin, in ten, as we saw the combination of natural environment and artificial environment. We need to use different strategies to use existing resources, so as to achieve a long-term responsibility and a more beneficial balance for everyone.


Of course, when it comes to sustainable development, we need to pay special attention to two points. First, some quantitative goals are measurable, such as economic growth, such as the proportion of growth, how many percentage points and so on, but the index of economics depends on how you take the quantity. When we talk about quantitative and qualitative indicators, we should pay attention to each other and attach equal importance to them. In this way, we can really get a better result in implementation. We can truly feel that we have achieved the goal of sustainable development. At the same time, it also requires us to continuously upgrade some key areas, such as people's motivation, motivate them, stimulate their innovation and create spirit. These things are difficult to measure, for example, how to measure positive innovation. Though unmeasurable, its effect is visible, and the environmental impact can be observed. So it can solve the problem of human resources utilization.


We have various policies to solve the goal of sustainable development and bring us a fairer and more equitable system to protect our environment and human equality. In the first place, we, as human beings, can feel some benefits from human beings, especially when we talk about solving inequalities, especially in the process of gender balance, because sometimes there are many women's marginalization and Prejudice in the development of a company, including the fact that we have to give women enough space. Women actually have many such prejudices. In fact, many people set a ratio of women to board seats. In fact, women do not need to give her a quota or a quota, so we should not feel that we have to achieve the quota of 30%. Women are not the ones that let you get a quota. Of course, we must balance the human and non-human, including the fish and animals in the sea, so when we discuss the goal of sustainable development, we must realize the two levels. Gender equality is a big problem today, not just for women to be leaders, not for women to lead, but for equal treatment. In addition, it is also necessary to get the equal treatment of quality medical education, which is across the gender and across different social groups. So sustainable goals must be able to achieve this.


On the other hand, as a member of the human race, I should contribute to achieving the goal of sustainable development. For example, we put forward our own ideas and put forward some of our wisdom. The goal of sustainable development provides us $12 trillion for global economic growth. In today's information age driven by science and technology, new employment areas will continue to emerge and new skills will be needed. Just now, we talked about the 50 sustainable products that we introduced, using natural fibers, regenerated polyester, hemp fiber and so on. In the process, we constantly streamline our supply chain. We used different processes, which we built in the past year and a half. For example, we used a technology that was not used in water, and used hemp fiber and so on.

Sustainable development is a complex word. Many years ago, I was a member of the Hongkong Council for sustainable development. I remember very clearly that in the first year, we wanted to define sustainability or sustainable development, but this is not something that can be measured, but something that can not be measured or quantified. Sustainable development is one of the five main points of our enterprise development. The last thing we have to mention is to build trust in the society, which requires us to achieve sustainable development. In terms of sustainable development, we mainly focus on two aspects: one is environmental sustainability, the other is public health sustainability. I want to see from the environmental point of view what environmental sustainability means. We have declared the goal of sustainable development for a very ambitious environment. We also aim to all customers and investors, which can be said to be a global commitment at the corporate level.


The sustainability of public health is spent billions of dollars in research and development every year in the pharmaceutical industry around the world. But in this trillions of dollars, only a very small part is on the common diseases prevalent in Africa and some Asian countries. Many of our investment in research and development is targeted at some of the more popular diseases in western countries, including some in the United States, such as cancer, heart disease and so on. But Novartis believes that we need to continuously invest in scientific research in this area to study these diseases in order to achieve sustainability of public health. So over the years, we have always been a leading pharmaceutical company in the market, putting more R & D resources into the diseases prevalent in developing countries. This includes leprosy, malaria, Mediterranean diseases, and other diseases. We have received a lot of research and development funding to study these diseases.

More and more people continue to participate in and promote sustainable development goals worldwide, and digital change continues to provide new ways to analyze and disseminate important information, and contribute to greater progress. However, many of the goals of sustainable development are still slow and fail to benefit people living in poverty-stricken areas. This session focuses on the limitations and challenges of the goal framework for sustainable development, and how to coordinate and move forward among governments, enterprises and individuals, and work together to find ways to achieve a better and more sustainable future.

Sustainable development is largely led by the government and enterprises, but its strength lies in individuals. Since 2014, the Yida group has held "ten dialogue" (formerly known as "ten forum") in the Guilin of Shanshui City every year. Every year, experts and leaders from various fields gather to discuss thoroughly the sustainable development. We also hope that the "natural world" will bring inspiration to the discussion on the topic of "how to achieve harmonious development of economy, environment and human culture".


Ten, for example, from "ten things like Buddhism", it reveals the ten inevitable truths of all things, which means unremitting pursuit and perfection. It also implies that human beings should conform to the laws of nature and develop harmoniously so as to achieve "harmony between man and nature".
