Visiting PIS Exhibition In Korea To Feel The Current Market

This is the eight consecutive monthly drop in South Korea's exports since last December. Textile exports in July decreased by 6.4%, but also maintained a downward trend.

Against this background, the twentieth Preview in SEOUL 2019 (hereinafter referred to as PIS) was held on August 28-30 at the Seoul COEX Convention and Exhibition Center. The exhibition was sponsored by the Federation of Korean fiber industries, and was supported by the Ministry of industry and Commerce resources of Korea, the Seoul municipal government, the Daegu municipal government, the Gyeonggi Do government and the Korea trade and Investment Promotion Committee.
The PIS exhibition, which began in 2000, coincides with 20th anniversary this year. In order to cope with the worsening of human living environment and realize the sustainable development of textile and garment industry, the theme of this PIS exhibition is "Good-Circle" to conform to the trend of global green textile green development.
South Korea's opportunities under Sino US trade friction
Chinese exhibitors are mainly distributed around the exhibition hall, with a large number of exhibitors. They exhibited high quality yarns, functional fabrics, accessories and other products. Many enterprises highlighted the characteristics of green environmental protection, giving Korean enterprises a new understanding of Chinese products. The purpose of large-scale exhibition of Chinese enterprises is to liaison with Korean customers in the current market downturn and stabilize the Korean market. On the other hand, in view of the uncertainty of Sino US trade friction, we are looking for new opportunities for Korea.
South Korea is an important market for Sheng Hong chemical fiber. This Sheng Hong booth is still very special and occupies a very good position in the exhibition center. Miu Yunlong, Minister of foreign trade, has been running in the Korean market this year. He analyzed that the current market is in the doldrums and the number of brands is decreasing. The Sino US trade friction has a great impact on garment enterprises and fabric enterprises, but has little effect on the chemical fiber yarns. The main reason is that the European and American orders are transferring to Southeast Asia, while the Southeast Asian chemical fiber yarns need to be imported. The Korean market is relatively stable. Sheng Hong's brand has gained a high reputation in Korea. Although the product price is 10% higher than others, it is popular in the Korean market with high quality.
Like Sheng Hong, Hengli Chemical fiber is also a famous brand in the Korean market. The current economic situation is not good, Korean enterprises are also survival of the fittest, some of the chemical fiber mill turned off, which brings new opportunities for Hengli. The head of the company's booth believes that the gross margin of chemical fiber yarn is very thin. After the United States imposed tariffs, the export to the US will be affected. Due to the dispute between Korea and Japan, the Korean market is also depressed, and the market demand is not strong. The Sino US trade frictions, as well as the conflict between Korea and Japan, radiate into the global economy, resulting in a sluggish world economy. The responsible person said that Hengli has opened up the whole process from refining to weaving, and realized the development of the whole industrial chain from a drop of oil to a piece of cloth. Subsequent PTA capacity expansion will further enhance Hengli's ability to resist risks.
Shandong Binzhou printing and Dyeing Group Co., Ltd. for the first time in the PIS exhibition, due to the current market is more difficult than ever, orders reduced, general manager Yu Yunxia said, in addition to the general trend is not good, India in recent years has developed rapidly, especially the bed and clothing has greatly improved, delivery and quality have improved, the impact on China is obvious. The consumption of Korean market is also not strong, especially the consumption of hemp and pure cotton products is decreasing. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the blend and functional products and make differentiation so as to open the market. In addition, good products must also be actively promoted. "This is the reason why companies come to Korea to participate in the exhibition." Yu Yunxia also believes that there are not many kinds of Korean fabrics, but the frontier design is worth learning by Chinese enterprises.
As the second largest zipper enterprise in the world, Xun Xing zipper Polytron Technologies Inc also appeared for the first time in the exhibition. Although the location of the company's booth is not ideal, there are still guests coming to the booth to exchange. Hong Bao, deputy general manager of the company, said that the purpose of coming to Korea is to inspect the Korean market. In the past two years, the Korean YBS brand has been gradually phasing out, and Xun Xing should have the opportunity. Sino US trade friction has led to the transfer of us orders to Southeast Asia. Xun Xing will follow suit factories and transfer orders to Southeast Asia.
Suzhou daiyin import and Export Co., Ltd. is a Sino Korean cooperation company. There are cooperative factories in China, mainly for functional shuttle weaving and knitted fabrics. Sino US trade friction has little impact on the company's business. The company's products are mainly exported to Vietnam, Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries, as well as Korean brand customers. Pu Shihao, the head of the company, said that the market is not very good, and the strategy of purchasing the big brands is changing. Therefore, we should establish good relations with the brand customers, try to contact the brand directly and reduce the middlemen.
Shaoxing Keqiao Hengyuan textile is the first batch of enterprises in Shaoxing to make knitted fabrics. The company's deputy general manager, Mao Ji Gang, admitted: "over the years, this year is the most difficult." Business in the United States is bad. I think South Korea should be able to do so. In fact, South Korea is not very good. Trade friction brings about the deterioration of the world economic environment, low orders, low profits and "bad foreign trade." He also believes that the South Koreans are willing to give China the order because China has high processing efficiency and can always find ways to reduce costs. The depreciation of the renminbi can also help digestion costs.
Because of the unrestrained large-scale production and consumption, the environment for human survival is deteriorating. The textile and garment enterprises all over the world actively introduce 100% microbes to decompose raw materials, pure natural materials, and zero pollution technology based on environmental protection biotechnology. Therefore, this PIS exhibition highlights the theme of "Good-Circle", and enterprises introduce a large number of materials and products of sustainable development, highlighting the development concept and direction of the industry.
In the Sheng Hong Company's booth, recycled polyester fibers, recycled PET chips and other environmentally friendly fiber products, attracted many guests to stop. Miu Yunlong, Minister of foreign trade, said that in view of the gradual increase in the procurement of recycled fiber by branded traders, Sheng Hong has introduced recycled and environmentally-friendly fibers since last year. Now all countries are building garbage sorting and waste recovery system. As an influential global enterprise, Sheng Hong should take the lead in social responsibility. For a long time, it is difficult to see truly innovative products of polyester filament, but regeneration and environmental protection will surely be the trend of future development.
Hengli Chemical fiber has the same understanding of this, and its booth also has the introduction of recycled yarn. The person in charge of the exhibition said that at present, the environmental protection recycled materials on the market are growing rapidly in the market. Under the impetus of the terminal brand business, suppliers are involved in the environmental protection regenerated products, and Hengli is also actively distributing.
Shaoxing Keqiao Hengyuan textile is also pushing the regenerated polyester fabric. They buy recycled polyester yarn from Sheng Hong, Hengli and other large enterprises, and then make the fabric, and export it to the brand. Mao Jigang, deputy general manager of the company, said that the proportion of international brand buyers purchasing recycled products increased year by year, and many enterprises began to make recycled products. At present, the price of regenerated yarns is higher than that of raw yarns, but with the increase of production capacity, the price of regenerated yarns will definitely decrease in the future.
In order to adapt to the new trend of recycled materials, xunxing is also paying attention to environmental protection and sustainability. Hung Bao, deputy general manager of the company, said that Xun Hing also took into account the recycling of products on the choice of pulling heads and cloth. At present, in the procurement of raw materials, the company requires suppliers to provide renewable raw materials and achieve comprehensive recyclability.
Jiangyin super Heng Textile Technology Co., Ltd. every year to participate in the exhibition, the main purpose is to contact customers. In view of the popularity of recycled and environmentally-friendly fabrics on the market, Chao Heng textile has developed a variety of regenerated fabrics very early. The company CEO Xu Qing said that a brand customer has promised that after 2020, all fabrics will have to be regenerated, so the company must keep up with this trend, and environmental protection is the trend in the future.
In addition to Chinese enterprises, Hyosung TNC, G-legacy, SAMSUNG CNT, Duckwoo Corporation and other Korea Companies also display products made of organic cotton, Tencel, modal, recycled polymer and so on, while SHINHANIND, PANGRIM CO., LTD., and so on show the green dyeing and processing technology. In addition, the exhibition organizers introduce environmental certification enterprises such as Bluesign, GRS, GOTS and sustainable development enterprises through prompts, promotional products and website indexes.
Chinese buyers are active in exhibitions, enterprises and collection stores.
The exhibition received a lot of attention from the industry. According to the organizers statistics, the appointment of visitors before the exhibition increased by 2 times compared with last year. Brands such as BURBERRY, Macy's, Li & Fung, SAMSUNG CNT, LF, YOUNGONE CORPORATION, K2 KOREA, K2, and so on have all made advance reservations. At the same time, modern automobile, LG electronics, Samsung SDS, LG life health, Lotte sophisticated materials, modern LIVART and other fields of enterprises are also visiting the exhibition, aiming to find opportunities for cooperation with the textile and garment industry.
In addition, buyers from the Americas, Europe and Asia also visit the exhibition to carry out international procurement. The China VIP buyers group, organized by PIS, China's general agent Du Mushan, is made up of more than 70 well-known textile and garment enterprises designers, professional market players and fashion buyers. The buyer group took part in the commercial docking activities, visited the famous Korean clothing brand Inlayment production base, and visited the Hiseoul original designer brand collection store in the east gate. Each member of the buyer group cherished the opportunity to join the group, and gained a lot through negotiation and visit. Anhui red love clothes are mainly men's suits, down garments, and brand OEM. Xu Aihong, deputy general manager of the company, came to Seoul to pay attention to down jacket fabrics and contact designer brand. During a few days of visits, she found some fabrics that were both environmentally friendly and distinctive, giving her a fresh look. In addition, she also met several Korean brand designers, which is very helpful for understanding Korean fashion design style and concept.
Guo Zhongjie from Shenzhen is interested in women's fashionable high-end knitted fabrics. He has found several sets of printed fabrics and spot suppliers. He feels that Korean fabrics are of high fashion, good at change, quality assurance and timely delivery. Li Xiaoping, a fashionable buyer, is very impressed by the fashion and outstanding environmental protection performance of Korean products. Through visits to enterprises, she made a deep impression on Korean manufacturers from the various production links to make environmental changes. She feels that being a fashion buyer may not be enough, and find new opportunities in the current industry.
The Chinese VIP buyers visited the Hiseoul designer brand store in East Gate, which was founded by the Seoul government in 2010. It has displayed the original brand of the designer free of charge. At present, there are 220 designer brands.
During the exhibition, the FS Shenzhen international garment supply chain fair also held a promotion conference around the theme of "environmental analysis and solutions for Korean textile and garment enterprises to enter the Chinese market" to share the latest trends in China's textile and apparel market.
