Ozsale Fined $500 Thousand For Selling Unsafe Pajamas For Children

The federal court fined 500 thousand dollars.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Council charged Ozsale with selling more than 200 sets of non standard pajamas with a stock of 11 thousand.

"Especially the Orange Superhero Pajamas, the material and the length of the Cape are dangerous to children because it is easy to catch fire."

It is understood that Ozsale acquired excess from overseas suppliers.

Ozsale has admitted to the court that 5 children's pajamas sold between February 2014 and October 2015 do not meet safety standards, and admitted that it did not establish processes to ensure that children's pajamas meet safety standards.

Ozsale acknowledges that clothing that does not comply with Australian mandatory standards include Absorba Bodysuit, Sleep Sack, Orange Superhero Pajamas, and no danger warning labels are attached.

Other products are the wrong fire danger warning labels, including JoulesJunior Pajamas and Babycottons Pajamas.

The departments concerned suggest that consumers who have purchased the above products will immediately return to Ozsale for full refund.

Ozsale was fined $10800 for alleged misleading publicity on consumer protection.
