According to institutional data, the number of foreign-funded department stores has been nearly 60% since 2014.

By the impact of the electricity supplier, the Chinese department store began to shut down shop in 2012, and it continued in 2015.

Yesterday, RET Rui Yide China Commercial Real Estate Research Center released a report, since 2014, over the past year, the number of large chain stores has clearly and will be closed to 38, of which foreign accounted for nearly 60% of the department stores, become the hardest hit.

Statistics show that since 2014, the number of department stores with the largest number of department stores is Baisheng department store and Marsha general store, each of which is 5, followed by Ito Yang Hua Tang, with 4 outlets, while Wangfujing department store, Zhong Du department store, NOVO department store,

Department stores, Shang Tai Department stores and other department store brands appeared in the two or three tier cities.

In the past few years, foreign department stores accounted for 57.89% of the department stores closed.

In the early days, China entered Parkson, Ito and Yang Hua Tang.

Business development

Under the background of continuous upgrading, they are forced to realize their pformation and upgrading through the way of closing stores.

Since last year, Ito's hall has closed 4 stores including Wangjing's hate.

Cheng Ning, director of the Department of commerce outside the hall, said in an interview with the Beijing News reporter that the external reasons for closing the shop included the impact of the Internet business on the physical store, the rise in rents, the increase in staff costs and too many competitors, and the internal reason was that the commodity structure did not meet the needs of the surrounding consumers, and Hua Tang was also adjusting its strategy in the Chinese market.

Coastal areas are more serious than inland.

The most serious cities are Beijing, Hangzhou, Changzhou and Qingdao.

Among them, Beijing and Hangzhou respectively closed 5 stores, ranking first place.

It is understood that in this round of closing shop trend, many cities with large number of stores are coastal or foreign department stores entering earlier cities.

Soza, director of RET ruiyide, believes that there are more changes in consumer demand in coastal cities and economically developed cities than in cities in the mainland. It is hoped that the shopping mall will complete their comprehensive needs of gathering, shopping and leisure, and put forward higher requirements in terms of functional format, spatial experience and service completeness, but unfortunately, department stores are still a place that pays more attention to the essence of "shopping mall" -- selling things.

The demand for department stores and the current main consumers has been misplaced, which has gradually alienated consumers from department stores. This dislocation has become more prominent in coastal cities and economically developed cities.
