Statistics show that in terms of foreign trade exports, China's clothing exports have been relatively stable in the past five years, but the export amount has continued to increase, from $119.79 billion in 2008 to $160.155 billion in 2012. In terms of domestic consumption, clothing retail sales of commercial enterprises above designated size increased from 377.55 billion yuan in 2008 to 977.78 billion yuan in 2012, an increase of 158.98%.
