"We plan to participate in the lawsuit with other 35 enterprises involved in the Turkey safeguards case.

Since March, the responsibility of a printing and dyeing enterprise in Keqiao Economic Development Zone has been busy, paying close attention to the plea of Beijing related firms to Turkey's safeguard measures.

"Turkey plans to impose an import tariff of 28% on China's fabric, we must actively respond to the challenge."

The person in charge said.

tariff

The Turkey safeguard measures originated in January 13th this year.

Turkey, the world's major textile giant, issued an official statement saying that in order to protect domestic enterprises from imports, it plans to increase import tariffs on woven fabrics and clothing products imported from the world.

The investigation work will be completed within 9 months of the earthwork plan for safeguards, if it is necessary to extend it for another 2 months.

This is the restrictions imposed by Turkey on the global fabric suppliers after the lifting of the restrictions on China's textile imports in 2008.

According to the statement, textile products, including 13 tax numbers, including cotton, wool and chemical fiber woven fabrics, will face increased import tariffs. Turkey will increase tariffs on imports to developing countries by 28% on the original basis, but the maximum tax rate is not more than 4 US dollars / kg, with a minimum of 1 US dollars / kg.

Shaoxing County involved $150 million

According to customs statistics, according to the import and export situation in 2010, the total number of products exported to Turkey is about US $535 million.

Among them,

Shaoxing

Among the major areas involved, nearly 100 enterprises were involved, of which more than 1 million enterprises were 35, and the amount involved in Shaoxing amounted to 150 million US dollars, accounting for 28% of the whole country.

Shaoxing customs officials pointed out that although the total volume of Shaoxing exported to Turkey is small, it has little impact on the development of the entire textile industry. However, if this plan is implemented, many export enterprises with weaker profitability will be kept outside Turkey, which will lose their competitiveness in the international market.

After limiting the rapid development of emerging markets, after 3 years, many textile enterprises in Shaoxing have a stable market base in Turkey.

"Turkey is a major export market for companies and can not be easily abandoned."

One person in charge said.

In response to trade friction, more than 20 cases involving enterprises in Shaoxing County in February 28th participated in the joint meeting of the Chinese textile import and Export Chamber of Commerce and the provincial commerce department.

"The amount of exports to Turkey is larger and ready to participate in litigation. We hope to actively rely on the legal channels for defense, and strive to maintain the legitimate rights of the company through the participation in litigation."

The official said that at present, more than 20 enterprises in Shaoxing have joined forces to engage lawyers in defense.
