For a long time, the measurement of impurities in cotton fibers by fiber inspection departments and textile enterprises in our country adopts the weighing method of mechanical separation of impurities. The disadvantage of this method is that the measuring speed is very slow, and the impurities in cotton fibers can not be effectively measured, which can not meet the requirements of fast speed measurement for cotton quality inspection.

Changling textile and electric company has independently developed an optical image method for measuring cotton fiber impurities, so as to realize the needs of cotton quality detection.

The device for measuring cotton fiber impurity by optical image method is mainly composed of standard light source, optical system, image acquisition card, computer and special impurity image processing software.

The technology has a test window, which is equipped with a standard light source on both sides of the symmetry, and has a certain angle with the test window. The lens is mounted below the lens and connected to the camera through an optical regulator. The light source uses a symmetrical tungsten lamp with the same power and the same color temperature to irradiate the tested cotton fibers from a certain angle of the normal surface of the tested cotton fiber, ensuring that the illumination of the test window is good and uniform, and the diaphragm is installed on the receiving optical path of the optical system, so as to reduce the external stray light into the optical system of the cotton fiber color.

This patented technology ensures the stability of the standard light source, stable and uniform illumination of the test window, and the design of the optical regulator and the impurity image of the tested cotton fiber are clear and accurate. The special image processing software for cotton fiber impurity is used to accurately measure the relative number of impurity particles and impurity area on the tested cotton fiber surface by standard white board and impurity plate, and classify the impurities.


It is reported that the patented technology has been successfully applied to the XJ128 fast cotton fiber tester which is newly developed and manufactured by Changling spinning and weaving company. It ensures that the product is fast, comprehensive, accurate and highly automated in testing cotton fiber impurities.
