The Japanese delegation composed of representatives of the fashion industry, including the government representatives, will visit Mumbai, India on 16 2010, -18. They will meet with the major importers in India.

Trader

The representatives of manufacturers, designers, the India Garment Manufacturers Association (CMAI), the Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL) and the India Garment Export Promotion Association (AEPC).

The main purpose of this visit is to select India importers, distributors, garment manufacturers, exporters and so on.

Designer

Introduce selected Japanese fabrics and textile products and study the potential and interest of these products in India market.

The long-term goals include the establishment of long-term projects for the promotion and sales of Japanese textile products in the India market, and the development of technology and manufacturing cooperation between Japan and India through relevant associations and institutions, as they are working hard to promote the import and export of selected industry groups, such as organic cotton and so on.

As Asia gradually becomes the largest manufacturing base and the largest consumer market in the world, India is regarded as Japan's strategic partner in Asia.

Japan and India must work together to make Asia the center of fashion and textile industry.

In the context of growing domestic demand, the India textile and garment industry is optimistic that the textile and garment industry will become a force that can not be ignored in the next few years.

India is the second largest textile economy in the world, second only to China.

However, the slowdown in the US and Europe has a negative impact on the economic development of India's textile and clothing industry.

To this end, India exporters are seeking new markets, such as Latin America, Japan, New Zealand and South Africa.

China is Japan's main supplier of textiles and clothing market, followed by Vietnam and India.

These market competitions are more intense and seasonal, requiring careful planning and continuous market promotion.

In 2009 and 2008, Japanese textile imports were 31 billion 240 million US dollars and 31 billion 640 million US dollars respectively, of which China accounted for 24 billion 840 million US dollars and 24 billion 640 million US dollars respectively.

By comparison, India exported only 311 million US dollars and US $354 million to Japan in 2009 and 2008.

With the expansion of exports to Japan, Infinity Creations put forward the fashion and textile initiative of India, Japan in January 2010, and was supported by the Ministry of economy and industry of Japan and the fashion week organization of Japan.
