World Expo

Lang Lang, the first Chinese pianist who has held a solo recital in all the famous concert halls all over the world, has long worked with all the first class orchestras in five continents of Berlin, Vienna and the United States.

Known as "the youngest Piano Master in the world", "a young man who will change the world".

Shanghai, some people call it "Paris of the East", and I would like to call it the window of China's charm and the stage of world fashion. She is both China and the world. In 2010, World Expo held the ShangHai Railway Station at the forefront of the world stage, leading the fashion trend of the world to accept the baptism of the world's eyes. No doubt, 2010, Shanghai will become the most attractive city in China and the world, because the charm of the whole world will be gathered here.

The charm of Shanghai comes from all aspects, including traditional, modern, economic, humane, material, intangible, visible, and invisible, and music is one of the beautiful scenery lines. This is both an objective existence and a deep experience of my subjectivity.

At the end of September, on the eve of the sixty birthday of the Republic, I was invited by the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra to attend the 130th Anniversary Concert in Shanghai.

The symphony has been accompanying Shanghai for 130 years, which is not an easy thing.

At the end of the concert, the Secretary and mayor of Shanghai Municipal Committee came to the stage to open up the big cake that condensed the glorious years and music mileage of 130 years. The audience cheered loudly. The exciting scene will remember my heart for a long time. At that moment, I deeply felt that Shanghai is not only a financial city, but also a music city.

I have long been in music with Shanghai.

In 1997, I held a solo recital in Shanghai on the eve of studying in the United States. I was 15 years old.

Although I had held a concert of Piano Concerto with the newly established National Symphony Orchestra, and at that time, general secretary Jiang Zemin also came to see it. But after all, I came to Shanghai for the first time. There are so many celebrities and profound views that I still feel a little nervous. But the box office has explained everything, not only the tickets are sold out, but also the tickets have been sold.

Shanghai finally embraced me with warm applause.

With the joy of harvesting in Shanghai, I embarked on the journey of studying abroad.

I know that this way, I have no choice, no retreat, I can only accompany music, and must succeed.

After I became famous, Shanghai greeted me again and again with warm arms. From the tour of the World Orchestra of Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, to the Six Nations summit in Shanghai and the opening ceremony of Shanghai Special Olympics, I almost went to Shanghai every year to report, and there was a joy of reunion and a kind of mutual joy.

In 2006, Shanghai was going to take a video of the city of Shanghai, inviting me to play a piano as a clue to the promo. I was delighted to say that the last film was called the Shanghai Concerto. It was very creative. Shanghai once again interpreted herself with music.

In 2007, Phoenix Satellite TV shot a recording of my artistic life, "Lang Lang's Song - dedicated to 2008". I once again had an intimate contact with Shanghai.

On that occasion, the photographing group set up a stage on the Whampoa River to place the piano on the river. The waves of the river increased my voice. My voice should beat the rhythm of the Huangpu River and beat the Bank of Shanghai.

Of course, I am most honoured to be chosen as the "2010 Ambassador of World Expo, Shanghai". This time, I feel deeply connected with Shanghai.

I was lucky enough to see some of the stadiums in Expo Park. It's amazing. I think Expo Park is like a symphony, and a different national pavilion is like a different movement. Some are vigorous, some are light, some are exciting, some are beautiful. It's just like what the famous saying goes: "architecture is solidified music."

When Hu Jinjun, deputy director of the Expo Bureau, presented the "Haibao" badge of World Expo to me, I got the best of it. I wore it and walked on the stage of the October 1st National Day fireworks show in the sixty national day of October 1st, playing "today is your birthday, my China". Then, I went into the studio of CCTV for an interview with it. I also showed the logo to the host, to the whole China and the whole world, and sent an invitation in the capacity of ambassador of World Expo: 2010, Shanghai is your first choice city.

Being a pianist and being an ambassador to World Expo, I feel that this is not only my personal honor, but also the honor of music.

A city marked by music is certainly a civilized city.

I sincerely wish that Shanghai can plug in the wings of music and take off higher, farther and more beautiful.
